Transcript of Russ Feingold's Radio Ad: "Reseburg"

May 19, 2004

JIM: I'm Jim Reseburg, Former Fire Chief in Beloit, Wisconsin. I remember when I attended U.S. Senator Russ Feingold's 2001 listening session in Rock County.
RUSS: I saw Chief on September 20th, just a little more than a week after the 9-11 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.
JIM: The Former Deputy Police Chief and I had an idea to improve airline safety.
RUSS: They proposed allowing firefighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians to register voluntarily and confidentially when they traveled by air, to provide added security and medical aid in case of an emergency.
JIM: Four days later, Senator Feingold introduced the Safe Skies Act in the Senate. It was added to the Aviation Security Act, and signed into law.
RUSS: Over eight hundred and forty listening sessions have made a difference.
I'm Russ Feingold, and I approved this message because fighting terrorism is my number one priority. And many of the best ideas come from the people of Wisconsin. Join me, this week, as I kick off my 2004 bid to be re-hired as your U.S. Senator.
LOCAL TAG: DATE/TIME/PLACE AS PER AREA OF RUSS' APPEARANCE.
