Feingold Campaign Canvasses 46 Wisconsin Counties, Knocks on More Than 11,000 Doors

Nearly 400 Volunteers Canvass as Part of “July Twenty-Fourward” Statewide Canvass

MILWAUKEE – This weekend, the Feingold Campaign hosted its third statewide canvass of 2010 – the “July Twenty-Fourward.” Nearly 400 volunteers knocked on more than 11,000 doors in more than 70 communities across Wisconsin.

“Our supporters are energized and engaged in this fight and they are going to continue helping me listen and talk to people in every corner of Wisconsin," Senator Feingold said. “I cannot thank them enough and I will continue fighting for them as they are fighting for me.”

Feingold Campaign volunteers canvassed 46 counties across the state on Saturday.  In April, the campaign announced it was launching an aggressive canvass program and has been running statewide canvasses each week leading up to the November election.  Saturday’s “July Twenty-Fourward” canvass was part of those efforts.

Other Feingold Campaign grassroots efforts include:

46,000 Phone Calls Made: The Feingold Campaign has made more than 46,000 phone calls to targeted voters across Wisconsin. The campaign hosts nightly phone banks to identify and talk to voters in every Wisconsin community.

16 Field Offices: Last month, the Feingold Campaign announced the opening of an additional four fully staffed field offices located across Wisconsin. New Feingold Campaign offices are now up and running in Waukesha, Sheboygan, Ashland and Appleton and join field offices in Racine, Kenosha, Wausau, Janesville, La Crosse, Eau Claire, Hudson, Porterfield, Madison and Green Bay. The Milwaukee and Middleton offices have remained open since the 2004 campaign.

2,800 Current and Former Elected Officials: More than 2,800 current and former elected officials from across Wisconsin have endorsed Senator Feingold’s campaign.

1,300 Steering Committee Members: Feingold’s statewide campaign and field operations continue to expand – including 27 active regional campaign steering committees with more than 1,300 members who help advise the campaign on outreach in their local communities. These committees have been meeting regularly since 2004 and have already helped to organize several canvasses, including March’s successful “Spring Fling” canvass and the “May 500” canvass.

300,000 Supporters: The Feingold Campaign enjoys support from more than 300,000 people, including more than 22,000 Facebook fans and more 10,000 Twitter followers.
