Television Ad August 24, 2004 ANNOUNCER: Before 9/11 the government couldn't use roving wiretaps on terrorists, they could only wiretap a specific phone. The PATRIOT Act gave law enforcement the right to wiretap terrorists no matter how many phones they have, making it easier to defend our country against more attacks. One senator voted against this---Russ Feingold. MICHELS: I'm Tim Michels and I approved this ad because unlike Russ Feingold, I will support renewing the PATRIOT Act because we need to be able to track and stop terrorists before they strike again.
